Wandering About the Wonder Girls
5/19/2014'Wonder Girls' began as a Facebook group chat box among me and my friends, Kat, Michelle, Ira, Kate and Pat. The name was never meant to be used as a name of our clique and it was never meant to be used in public but during our Lay Apostolate class wherein we have to divide tasks among ourselves, the name 'Wonder Girls' was introduced to the entire class and they embraced it as well and the rest, as they say, is history.
From Left to Right: Ira, Kate, Pat, Michelle, Me and Kat |
I cannot imagine having my college life without the Wonder Girls. Destiny brought us together. Somehow, when we are together, there's complete chaos. We tease each other a lot and make fun of ourselves. We never take everything seriously and maybe, that is the reason why we never fight or argue but of course, we also take our studies seriously. We help each other during our Accounting classes and we are each others' first pick during group works. I can say that we are in sync with each other.
Bye Ira! :( |
Being with the Wonder Girls made me more outspoken. I know that a lot people would think of me as a quiet and shy person which I still am but I am not that quiet and shy. Having met them, I was able to learn not to take myself and life seriously. I am really happy when I'm with them and it is not because we are always teasing a lot. I am happy when I'm with them because when we're together, we don't have to wear masks. We're just being ourselves when we're together and we just enjoy life.
The start of the school year is just around the corner and whatever happens happens. I really don't want to think about it but of course, I do. Now that Ira is gone, I really don't know what to expect for this upcoming school year. To be honest, I'm scared because I know that things will be not be the same for all of us but what I know and what I am completely certain with is that we'll still keep in touch. We will always be the Wonder Girls whatever happens to each of us. I know that our friendship is stronger than the distance between us and the obstacles that we have to face.
I really love these girls and I will definitely not be the Pia that I am now without them. Thank you so much for everything and to Ira, I really miss you and I'm sorry that we weren't able to eat at Cafe Cyrilla and I'm sorry that we don't exactly have a proper face-to-face goodbye. I'm just scared that if I say goodbye to you in person, I might breakdown. I will also update you about the milk teas around Taft. So, yeah, this is the story of the Wonder Girls and this is definitely not the end. We're just beginning so what I can suggest to all of you is to treasure the friendships you have. Take care of them and love them because they will be faces you'll see when you're at your lowest. See you soon babies!
