Disclaimer: To begin with, this is not a blog post dedicated to the recent win of the Ateneo Lady Eagles over the De La Salle Green Archers a few days ago at the Volleyball championship for the UAAP's 76th season although I am a self confessed Ateneo fan but don't fret. I guarantee you all La Salle fans that this blog post will not make you cringe or remember the result of the said game.

Heart strong was made famous by Ateneo's volleyball coach Anusorn Bundit or most famously known as Coach Tai. He was the one that embedded the heart strong attitude to the Lady Eagles which later on brought the team to the top spot of the volleyball league and Coach Tai also shared, "If you believe you can win, we will win" and in my opinion, this is the true meaning of heart strong.

The word actually made a huge impact on me and later on became my mantra in life. I even found myself scribbling it on my books and my accounting worksheets. It is not because I am an Ateneo fan or I am still holding to famous their win but I was struck by Coach Tai's words that if you believe, you will win. Somehow, I related this quote to my battle with Accounting. Yes, Accounting is a battlefield. You never know where you stand and how the story ends. I am not overreacting. This is the reality. This is my reality.

My friends and families always say that I will not get delisted from the Accountancy program and that I am smart and hardworking enough to survive it but what they do not know is that I also get worried.I can be lazy too or stubborn. I still am a student after all and there is no guarantee that my grades are keeping up but what scares me the most is the haunting feeling hovering above my head. That feeling that there is this chance that I will get delisted and every day, I try to place it at the back of my head and forget about it. Yet, of course, it is still there. Even now.
But, somehow, Coach Tai's words made me believe and made me hold on to the fact that there is also the chance that I will not get delisted. Like the Lady Eagles who came from the bottom then made their way to the top, we can also achieve our dreams. Heart strong made me work harder and persevere even more. It reminded me to keep on pushing myself and to believe that I can make it. Kapit lang. The game is not yet over. Until the class cards had been released, there is still hope. There is still a chance to survive and keep afloat.

As Boom Gonzales always says during the volleyball matches, Sino ang unang bibitaw? It will not be me and so should you. We should all keep in mind that the heart has a special power and control over us and over our bodies. If we continue to believe that we can make it, we would make it.
