If you had been watching The Carrie Diaries, you might be familiar with the title of this post. I got it from TCD's episode 9 entitled, "The Great Unknown." According to the ever trusting Wikipedia, vulnerability means the inability to withstand the effects of a hostile environment and knowledge means having familiarity with something or someone. If you use these two words in one sentence, it could sound weird but the truth is, it actually makes a lot of sense.

With no knowledge comes with vulnerability.

It's true. Once you have all of the information crammed up inside your head, you can survive. You can take an exam, you can travel, you can perform but without the needed information, without the assurance, what will happen? Let's take graduating our case in point since it is March which is obviously the graduation month.

Graduating is a good as well as a terrifying event. It brings you a sense of pride and accomplishment but it also marks the end of a life which you are comfortable living in. You have familiarity. Knowledge. The scary part is once everything is done, once the togas and graduation caps were returned and the photos were taken, everything's a free fall. Vulnerability.

It is truly scary when our future is no longer controlled by us, when tomorrow is held by a particular university or a once in a lifetime job opportunity. It is scary and nauseating because of the feeling of uncertainty. There is no assurance and one false move can wreck everything apart. It can make everything you worked for tumble down but on the other hand, once everything turned out to be a success, you can say that everything paid off well.

Based from my experience, it is good and healthy to just go with your instinct. Riding Enchanted Kingdom's EKstreme is terrifying and nerve wracking but once you're back in the ground, I tell you, you're going to exclaim that want to try it again. That's life! Everything's a free fall although, it could be kind of annoying when everyone has dealt their cards and you have none. But, like I said, that's life.

Uncertainty is terrifying. Having no knowledge is frustrating. Being vulnerable is annoying. For batch 2013, the best advice I could give you is don't be afraid. Being placed in a different situation could be overwhelming but take a deep breath, hold your head up high and take the plunge. It could be the greatest thing that you have done in your life.

CONGRATULATIONS BATCH 2013!!
